Archive for March, 2007

I had such a blast shooting Danielle and Josh’s engagement session! I dragged them all around the Portsmouth area and they were such good sports, especially Danielle since it was a little cooler than what she expected. I can’t wait for their wedding, they are going to be so much fun to photograph:) These are a few of my favorites. You can see more on the **SLIDESHOW**

Jennifer and Scott’s wedding yesterday was absolutely perfect. They were so nice and invited me to their rehearsal dinner the night before at Lui Lui’s, where I had the pleasure of meeting all their close family and friends. The girls started out the next day sipping on mimosa’s getting their hair and make-up done at Hair We Are and then headed to Jennifer’s parents house. The wedding was at the Harris Pelham Inn, which has a beautiful location overlooking a lake. It is March though, so even though we had beautiful weather, the ground is basically mud from all the melting snow, so it would have been really messy to go out and take pictures outside. Jennifer and Scott were so creative…each of the tables had a candy theme and the centerpiece was filled with that candy. Then each guest received a little take out carton and they could go around the room and fill it with different candy. It was a huge hit! I got to eat my dinner at the Rolo’s table:) These are a few of my favorites from the day, and you can see more on this **SLIDESHOW**

Congratulations Jennifer & Scott! Have a wonderful honeymoon!

I had such an awesome time photographing Sophia at the Boston Copley Marriott yesterday. She and her Mom really wanted some pictures in her dress without the stress and craziness of the wedding day.  Sophia had her final fitting at Priscilla’s of Boston so it seemed like the perfect time. I just love these sessions, because everyone can relax and we can take our time.  On the wedding day, everything happens so fast, I really have to be on my toes and a lot of times everything is running behind schedule, so I don’t always get the shots I want.

Sorry, I can’t show any pictures, her dress is a secret:) You’ll have to wait until her wedding 06.30.2007!

I photographed Melissa’s boudoir session this past Sunday and we had so much fun! Melissa is getting married May 4th and wanted to surprise her fiance. He is going to LOVE these!

I have a busy few days ahead and will be on the road until the 26th, so the best way to reach me is by email.

I’m sure you’re wondering what I’ll be doing:) I am so excited because I will be photographing Sophia’s bridal session at the Boston Copley Marriott, I have Jennifer and Scott’s wedding at the Harris Pelham Inn and then Danielle and Josh’s engagement session in Portsmouth. I can’t wait to post some pictures! Stay tuned:)

Before I announce the winner of the free Boudoir Photo Session, I just want to let everyone know how hard it was for me to choose! When I first came up with the idea for the contest I thought it would be so much fun. Then I started getting the entries and it dawned on me that I was actually going to have to choose one! I wanted everyone to win!

Even though I could only pick one winner, everyone who entered will receive $100 off a Boudoir Photo Session (good until the end of 2007).

Congratulations Catherine!

Catherine’s entry truly inspired me and I wanted to share it with everyone.

I would describe myself as a generous, caring and loving person with much happiness, ambitiousness and a lot of spunk. I do anything and everything for the people around me. It seems that I’m always giving and doing for others (more than what may be expected), simply because that’s my nature. I am a hard worker and aim to get things done right the first time and go even higher if a second time arises.

I feel that I should receive a free boudoir photo session because we (my fiance and I) have made it through some tough times. In March 2006, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26, and from day one he has never left my side he has been there through the chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. He was always the one with the positive attitude and trying to get me through it all while he faced his own recent diagnosis of diabetes. This photo session is an opportunity for me to give back the many thanks that he deserves. He has told me time and time again that my body is as beautiful as it ever was and I shouldn’t be ashamed of the scars that I now see everyday, “They’re marks of courage” he tells me. I feel this would show him how much he really means to me, how much I appreciate him for all he has done and that I can accept my body for the way it is today.

Thank you Jennifer for this chance in winning a free photo session with you. I can’t wait until March 14th!

Catherine, I can’t wait to photograph your boudoir session!

I had such a great time photographing Janice and David’s wedding on Saturday. They got married at the Sanford Unitarian Universalist Church in Sanford, Maine. The cold spell finally broke and the sub zero temperatures were gone, so we had beautiful weather.

Their reception was at Krista’s Restaurant in Cornish. I’d never been to Cornish and it was such a cute little town! Their wedding was actually the first event in Krista’s new building and they did a great job. Janice and David had awesome details for their recepetion. They are actually on their way to Australia right now for their honeymoon, so to capture a little Australia for their guests they served Australian wine.

I just loved this cake topper! Isn’t the female moose great with the wedding veil and flowers!

Here is a **slideshow** of some of my favorite images:) Congratulations!! Have a wonderful honeymoon in Australia!!

I will be in Chicago for Tara & Pradeep’s wedding June 8th and we are coordinating a mini-marathon boudoir photo session for Wednesday, June 6th!! The sessions are $450. Any interest? **Email me** for more info or to book your session.

WPJA has just announced their Winter 2006 contest winners. Unfortunately I did not place:( There are just so many amazing photographers to compete against. Take a look at some of the amazing moments captured by these great photographers **here**

We love going to movies, but don’t often have time. Well, we’ve managed to see two really good movies in the past two weekends.

We just got back from seeing the movie Zodiac, which recounts the true story of the serial killer known as the Zodiac who terrorized the San Francisco Bay area in the 60’s and 70’s. The movie revolves around the four people (two homicide detectives and two journalists) who became obsessed with the Zodiak and how it affected their lives. Even though the movie is long, 2h 40m, it is well worth seeing and it flew by. The Zodiac mystery was never solved and is still an open case.

And then last weekend we went to go see the movie Breach which tells the true story of the biggest security breach in US history. For 22 years Robert Hanssen, an FBI operative, passed classified material undetected to the Soviet and Russian governments and was finally caught on February 18, 2001.
